The Law Office of Robert C. Buckley focuses on personal injury cases involving the following:

Car Accidents
Slip and Falls
Trip and Falls

Because we limit our personal injury practice to a narrow range of possible cases we can provide more focused representation than other garden-variety "we take any case that will pay" law offices.

Many people do not realize that car accident cases can be quite difficult to win -- especially when the attorney does not have a command of the relevant law.

Under NY State Law, an individual injured in a motor vehicle accident must have a serious injury in order to be able to sue for pain and suffering.

 Insurance Law § 5102(d) provides that a “serious injury” constitutes a personal injury resulting in:

(1)  death;
(2)  dismemberment;
(3)  loss of a fetus;
(4)  a fracture;
(5)  significant disfigurement;
(6)  permanent loss of use of a body function, system,    organ or member;
(7)  permanent consequential limitation of use of a body organ or member;
(8)  significant limitation of use of a body function or system; or
(9)  a medically determined injury or impairment of a non-permanent nature which prevents the injured person from performing substantially all of the material acts which constitute such person's usual and customary daily activities for not less than ninety days during the one hundred eighty days

The Law Office of Robert C. Buckley has experience handling cases in which the existence of a serious injury is in dispute, and may be able to prove that your injury falls within the serious injury threshold.
